total eclipse of the heart: literal video version

the high line

the high line is a park built atop an old elevated railway. it's located in the meatpacking district (where i work), and looks really cool. definitely going to check it out.

ways to get fired

a friend of mine is trying to think of creative ways to get fired. i think, at the ripe old age of 23, he's realized he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life in a cubicle. his ideas thus far:

1. tailgate in your cube
- the smell of hamburgers and hotdogs in the office
- an ice chest
- the smell of sunscreen
- beers

2. slowly becoming more and more goth
- paint one fingernail black each day
- start subbing out polo shirts for dark clothes
- wear a black trench coat over a bright polo everyday

... more to come later.

my heart is aflutter

i honestly cannot wait until this movie comes out. it looks so sweet and sappy, but not overly-so (at least for my taste). sort of a juno meets happier version of eternal sunshine of the spotless mind? maybe? don't know. we'll see.

cnn review

seacrest

i think ryan seacrest is going to take over the next crop of chuck norris jokes, because honestly, does he ever sleep? how many jobs does he have? i don't particularly like him*, but good god, man, he is all over the place.

*i admit his cameo in knocked up was pretty amazing.

keeping up with the clineses

a while ago, my dad started keeping a running list of all the movies he and my mom watched. then, after ringing in 2K9, my brother decided to follow suit.

for some reason, it's taken me this long to think, "hey, i want to do that, too!" but alas. starting in june may not be the same as starting in january, but it's something.

when i pointed out my new goal to keep track of all of the films that i watch, evie said she thought it to be depressing, like when you look back at your cell phone call history and realize that you've spent approximately 2 days and 16 hours on the phone.

i think it'll be fun. my family loves movies. my dad's job revolves around it. ain't no shame in the cline family when it comes to watching movies. it's what we do. we might as well keep a running list.

which reminds me, i also love lists. but that's another story.
