grizzley cline

this is grizzley cline. we got him in 1994 and he recently passed away on april 16th. he was the sweetest of our pomeranians (wolfie was the queen bee, grizzley - the sweetie, bear - the princess, moose - the class clown, cubby - the one with ADD, and squirrel, who might actually tie grizzley for sweetest). he was always distinguishable because he was a toy pomeranian, so even smaller than normal, and the fur on his chin was darker so he always looked like he was smiling. i remember going with my mom to pick him up from his breeder - i guess you would call him the runt of his litter, although i don't remember if he technically was. he was in a fence and i remember a group of puppies clambering to get our attention. i'm sure grizzley was joining in but he was more demure about it. he just stood against the fence and looked at us sweetly. something about him drew us to him, because my next memory is riding in the middle seat of our old van, talking to grizzley as he sat in an open box we'd brought along for his trip home. he was scared and shaking, and i remember saying, "it's okay, puppy. don't be scared." my next memory of grizzley is immediately deciding that he and wolfie were to be married and have lots of puppies (which they did). in his latter years he became my nana's best pal. unfortunately he didn't age well, but i'm happy that since i left home, and now, when i think of grizzley, i think of his younger, healthy self. rest in peace, little grizzley. i'll miss you.
